## Cause

The schema lock was released before `nextly migrate:baseline` adopted the database, so nothing was written.

`nextly migrate:baseline` takes the schema lock before it writes the baseline migration and records it as applied. The lock was released before that work ran, so the command stopped rather than report a baseline it never wrote.

## Fix

* Run `nextly migrate:baseline` again once no other schema operation, such as `nextly migrate` or `db:sync`, is running.
* If it keeps happening, run `nextly migrate:status` to check nothing else is changing the schema.
