# BLOCK_MANIFEST_UNREADABLE

The block manifest exists but could not be read.

## Cause

The block manifest exists but could not be read.

A manifest that is absent and one that cannot be read are told apart: reading an unreadable file as absent would let a stale manifest stand. The file is there, but reading it failed, for example on its permissions or because the path is a folder.

## Fix

* Check that the file the error names can be read by the user running the command.
* Or remove it, and run `nextly generate:manifest` to write it again.
