# BUILD_GENERATION_FAILED

The build could not generate its type or Zod schema files.

## Cause

The build could not generate its type or Zod schema files.

After validating, `nextly build` writes the generated TypeScript types and Zod schemas. Writing them failed, most often because an output folder cannot be created or written to. The Why line holds the error.

## Fix

* Check that the folders the config's `typescript` options name can be written to by the user running the build.
* Run `nextly build --verbose` to see where it failed, then run `nextly build` again.
* To skip a step, use `--no-types` or `--no-zod`.
