# DATA_LOSS_DECLINED

The prompt listing what the command would delete was answered no, so it changed nothing.

## Cause

The prompt listing what the command would delete was answered no, so it changed nothing.

A command that deletes data (a table, a column, or the rows in them) lists what it would delete and asks before it deletes anything. The answer was no, so the command stopped there. A cancel (Ctrl+C) is not a no: it ends the run with exit 130 and never reaches this error.

## Fix

* Check that the data the prompt listed is not needed, then run the command again and answer yes.
* To consent without being asked, as in a script, give `--accept-data-loss` (or set `NEXTLY_ACCEPT_DATA_LOSS`).

## Example

```text
✗ Nothing was changed: the deletion was not confirmed.
  Why:  The prompt that listed what would be deleted was not answered yes.
  Next: Run the command again and confirm, or give --accept-data-loss (or NEXTLY_ACCEPT_DATA_LOSS) to consent without being asked.
