# DATABASE_DIALECT_INVALID

`DB_DIALECT` names a database Nextly does not support.

## Cause

`DB_DIALECT` names a database Nextly does not support.

Nextly runs on PostgreSQL, MySQL and SQLite, and `DB_DIALECT` must name one of them exactly: `postgresql`, `mysql` or `sqlite`.

## Fix

Set `DB_DIALECT` to `postgresql`, `mysql` or `sqlite`, or remove it, and the CLI tells the database from `DATABASE_URL`.

## Example

```text
✗ `DB_DIALECT` is `mssql`, which is not a database Nextly supports.
  Why:  Nextly runs on PostgreSQL, MySQL and SQLite.
  Next: Set `DB_DIALECT` to `postgresql`, `mysql` or `sqlite`, or remove it to read the type from `DATABASE_URL`.
