# MEDIA_APPLY_OUTSIDE_PROJECT

`nextly media orphans --apply` was run from outside the project `--cwd` names, so the database settings it read may be another project's.

## Cause

`nextly media orphans --apply` was run from outside the project `--cwd` names, so the database settings it read may be another project's.

The database settings are read when the CLI starts, from `.env` where it runs, the shell or a parent process, before `--cwd` names the project. From another folder they may be another project's database, against which this project's files would read as left behind. Nothing was changed.

## Fix

* Change into the project folder and run `nextly media orphans --apply` there.
* Without `--apply` the command only lists, and runs from anywhere.

## Example

```text
✗ Nothing was changed: --apply was run from outside /home/you/app.
  Why:  The database settings were read before --cwd named /home/you/app, so they may be another project's.
  Next: Run the command from /home/you/app to remove files.
