# NEXTLY_PERMISSION_COLLISION

A plugin's custom permission repeats another, targets a resource Nextly reserves, or repeats one Nextly creates itself.

## Cause

A plugin's custom permission repeats another, targets a resource Nextly reserves, or repeats one Nextly creates itself.

A plugin's custom permissions are added beside the ones Nextly creates for every collection and Single. A permission that repeats another plugin's (`duplicate-permission`), names a resource Nextly reserves for its own (`system-resource-reserved`), or repeats one Nextly creates itself (`crud-permission-reserved`) would make two grants mean the same thing.

## Fix

Choose a unique `(action, resource)` pair for the permission, or remove it if Nextly already creates the one you need. If the plugin is third-party, update it.

## Example

```text
✗ The custom permission "export-reports" is declared twice, by `nextly.config.ts` and "reports".
  Why:  A permission is one action on one resource, compared without regard to case, and the database holds one row for it.
  Next: Remove one of the two declarations, or give one of them another action or resource.
