# NEXTLY_PLUGIN_REMOVED_WIDGET_CHANNEL

A plugin declares widgets or widget data sources through a key Nextly no longer reads.

## Cause

A plugin declares widgets or widget data sources through a key Nextly no longer reads.

A plugin adds dashboard widgets one way: each declared with `defineWidget()` under `contributes.dashboard.widgets`, its data read by the widget's `load` as the person asking. `contributes.admin.widgets` and `contributes.widgetSources` are not read, so a plugin that still carries either, enabled or not, is refused at startup. The message names the plugin and the key.

## Fix

* Declare each widget with `defineWidget()` under `contributes.dashboard.widgets`, read its data in that widget's `load`, and remove the key.
* If the plugin is not yours, update it to a release that declares its widgets that way.

## Example

```text
✗ Plugin "reviews" declares `contributes.widgetSources`, which Nextly no longer reads.
  Why:  A plugin adds dashboard widgets one way: each declared with `defineWidget()` under `contributes.dashboard.widgets`, whose `load` reads its data as the person asking.
  Next: Declare each widget with `defineWidget()` under `contributes.dashboard.widgets`, read its data in that widget's `load`, and remove the key. If the plugin is not yours, update it to a release that declares its widgets that way.
