# OWNERSHIP_TAKEOVER_REFUSED

A table or element recorded as one owner's would pass to another, so the change was refused.

## Cause

A table or element recorded as one owner's would pass to another, so the change was refused.

Nextly records who owns each table and element (the app, or a plugin) in `nextly_schema_owners`, so that one owner's migration never changes another's. A change that would hand a recorded table or element to a different owner is refused.

## Fix

If the earlier owner was removed and its table or element is meant to pass to the new one, delete the earlier owner's rows from `nextly_schema_owners`, then run the command again. Otherwise rename the new owner's table or element.

## Example

```text
✗ The table "seo_redirects" is recorded as belonging to "@acme/seo", so "@acme/redirects" cannot take it over.
  Why:  Each table and element has one owner, recorded in `nextly_schema_owners`, so no plugin or app takes over another's.
  Next: If "@acme/seo" was removed and its table is meant to pass to "@acme/redirects", delete "@acme/seo"'s rows from nextly_schema_owners first.
