# PLUGIN_SETUP_FAILED

A plugin's `setup` function threw while the configuration was loading.

## Cause

A plugin's `setup` function threw while the configuration was loading.

A plugin can change the configuration as it loads, in its `setup` function. When that function throws, the configuration cannot be built, so the command stops. The Why line is the plugin's own message.

## Fix

* Check the options the plugin is given in `nextly.config.ts` against its documentation; the message usually names the option.
* If the options are right, update the plugin to its latest release.
* `--verbose` shows the stack, which points into the plugin's code.
