# SETUP_TOKEN_SET_BY_ENV

`NEXTLY_SETUP_TOKEN` sets this install's setup token, so there is no generated one to replace.

## Cause

`NEXTLY_SETUP_TOKEN` sets this install's setup token, so there is no generated one to replace.

`nextly setup-token` replaces the token an install generated and stored. When `NEXTLY_SETUP_TOKEN` is set, that value is the token and nothing is stored, so there is nothing for the command to replace.

## Fix

* Change `NEXTLY_SETUP_TOKEN` where it is set, such as the host's environment settings, and restart the install.
* Or remove the variable, and run `nextly setup-token` to have a token generated.

## Example

```text
✗ NEXTLY_SETUP_TOKEN sets this install's token, so there is no generated one to replace.
  Why:  A token set by NEXTLY_SETUP_TOKEN is read from the environment, not stored in the install's database.
  Next: Change the variable where it is set.
