CLIError codes

DATABASE_DIALECT_UNKNOWN

The database type could not be told from `DATABASE_URL`, and `DB_DIALECT` is not set.

Cause

The database type could not be told from DATABASE_URL, and DB_DIALECT is not set.

The CLI tells the database from the start of DATABASE_URL: postgres:// or postgresql:// for PostgreSQL, mysql:// for MySQL, and file: or a .db path for SQLite. Any other URL needs DB_DIALECT.

Fix

Set DB_DIALECT to postgresql, mysql or sqlite in .env, or give DATABASE_URL in one of the forms above.

Example

✗ The database type could not be told from `DATABASE_URL`.
Why: It starts with none of `postgres://`, `mysql://` or `file:`, and `DB_DIALECT` is not set.
  Next: Set `DB_DIALECT` to `postgresql`, `mysql` or `sqlite` in `.env`.
